This recording accompanies a poem posted along a trail somewhere in the woods of Chris Turnbull's choosing as part of her rout/e project: etuor.wordpress.com.

The noise I've recorded and manipulated here results from encounters with the acoustic environment of the city as a wilderness, including: a strange atmospheric booming and grinding sound in northern BC and the reporting on it; a parade that went past our window while my child was napping; the sound of my child playing on the other side of the door to my office; the hum of traffic and sirens.
